Defective or faulty merchandise

  • I am happy to repair any piece free-of-charge within a two week period from purchase, unless the item has clearly been mistreated or damaged by owner through misuse. The returned piece will be inspected and assessed upon its return before further action is taken, and before the free repair is decided. Any repairs after this time will incur a charge, unless it’s clearly a design or manufacture fault, in which case you are required to contact me to arrange the repair of the piece.

Care of Jewellery

  • All jewellery needs to be treated lovingly to keep it in good condition.  It is not uncommon for silver and gold jewellery to scratch, dent, bend out of shape, or even break through completely, if it is treated harshly.  It is not indestructible! ….So please be aware that these pieces are handmade items that should be worn with care.
  • However it is natural that with time and wear, the metal will tarnish, scratch and the oxidised black patina may change shades. To protect the piece avoid contact with abrasive surfaces, detergents, perfume & cosmetics.
  • For oxidised silver it is best not to use any abrasives or soaps as this can remove the oxidised surface.  It is natural for the oxidisation to wear off over time with wear, especially on raised edges and surfaces.  It can be reapplied, in most cases, so please contact me.
  • Sterling silver with a bright finish will naturally darken and oxidise over time, it can be polished up with a silver jewellery cleaning cloth, available at supermarkets, or professionally polished.
  • Brushed Finishes can be brightened to original silver shade using a Scotch Brite by lightly sanding in the desired direction.
  • Please feel free to contact me for any cleaning and care advice particular to the item. info@cgcj.com.au
